Smart Sindara and the Last Day of School Bash
The last day of school had finally arrived at Sunnyview Primary School, and the excitement in Lagos was as electric as a thunderstorm. The sun blazed in the sky, but it didn’t dim the spirits of the students, who were ready for the grand end-of-year celebration.
Smart Sindara zipped up her backpack, her heart racing with excitement. She had a surprise planned for her classmates. Sindara wasn’t just the smartest girl in school—she was also the best at organizing fun events. Her latest invention, "The Fun-o-Matic Machine," was tucked carefully in her bag.
Sindara’s best friend, Ada, met her at the school gate, bouncing on her toes. “Sindara! Did you bring it?” she whispered.
Sindara grinned. “Of course! But it’s a surprise. You’ll see it later.”
The schoolyard was already buzzing with activities. There were games like sack races and tug-of-war, and the air smelled of freshly popped chin-chin and steaming jollof rice from the food stalls. Students darted around with laughter, some splashing water from balloons, others dancing to the latest Afrobeats songs blasting from the school speakers.
The highlight of the day was the talent show, and Sindara had a plan to make it unforgettable.
When the show began, students performed everything from drumming to comedy skits. Ada sang beautifully, while their classmate Bayo juggled oranges to thunderous applause. Finally, it was Sindara’s turn.
She stepped onto the stage holding a box covered with colorful buttons, knobs, and blinking lights. “Everyone,” she announced, “this is my Fun-o-Matic Machine! It’s here to make our last day of school the best ever.”
The crowd gasped as Sindara pressed a bright green button. Suddenly, balloons shot into the sky, releasing confetti everywhere. A rainbow-colored parachute unfurled over the audience, and soap bubbles floated magically in the air. Kids cheered and leaped to pop the bubbles, while the teachers chuckled and clapped.
“That’s not all!” Sindara said with a wink. She twisted a knob, and the machine started playing music. It wasn’t just any music—it was a mash-up of all their favorite Afrobeats hits. Everyone got up to dance, even Mr. Okoro, the strict maths teacher, who tried (and hilariously failed) to pull off a zanku legwork move.
“Go, Mr. Okoro!” the students shouted, laughing.
Sindara added another surprise. She pressed a red button, and out came a mini water fountain that sprayed cool mist over the playground. “To beat the Lagos heat!” she declared.
As the day wound down, the headmistress, Mrs. Akinyemi, took the stage. “Let’s give a big hand to Sindara for her amazing invention!” she said. The crowd erupted in applause.
After the festivities, Ada hugged Sindara. “You’re the best, Sindara. This was the most fun day ever!”
Sindara smiled, wiping confetti off her hair. “The best part of school isn’t just learning—it’s the friends we make and the memories we share.”
As the sun set over Lagos, the students walked home, their hearts full of joy and laughter, ready for the adventures of the holiday ahead.
