Smart Sindara and the Presidential Library Adventure
The class buzzed with excitement as Mrs. Adebola stood at the front of the room. “Class, I have a special announcement,” she said, her smile wide. “Next week, we’ll be visiting the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta!”

Sindara’s eyes lit up. She had read about the library, the first presidential library in Africa, filled with books, artifacts, and stories about Nigeria’s history. “This is going to be amazing!” she whispered to Ada, who nodded eagerly.
The Journey to Abeokuta
On the day of the trip, the students piled onto the school bus, chattering excitedly. The road to Abeokuta was lined with tall trees and hills, and Sindara couldn’t stop talking about what she hoped to see.
“I heard they have a giant library with books about Nigeria’s history,” she said.
Timi chimed in, “And I heard there’s a wildlife park too!”
“Don’t forget the museum!” Ada added.

As the bus pulled into the library grounds, the students gasped. The sprawling complex was beautiful, with lush gardens, modern buildings, and a statue of President Olusegun Obasanjo himself.
Exploring the Library
A guide welcomed the class and began the tour in the main library. The walls were lined with shelves filled with books, and Sindara’s heart raced as she saw titles about Nigerian leaders, culture, and innovations.
“Wow,” she said. “It’s like a treasure chest of knowledge!”
The guide explained, “This library preserves the history of President Obasanjo’s time as Nigeria’s leader, along with stories of our country’s journey.”
Sindara ran her fingers along the spines of the books, making a mental note to return someday and read as many as she could.

The Museum Adventure
Next, the group visited the museum. There were artifacts from President Obasanjo’s life, including photographs, awards, and items from his time in office. Timi and Tami stared in awe at a life-sized replica of the presidential office.
“This is so cool!” Tami said, pretending to sit at the president’s desk.
Sindara, meanwhile, was fascinated by the displays about agriculture. “President Obasanjo was a farmer too,” she explained to Ada. “He showed how farming can help a nation grow.”
A Lesson in Leadership
The highlight of the trip was a special storytelling session in the library’s auditorium. A librarian shared stories about President Obasanjo’s journey from his childhood to becoming Nigeria’s leader.
“Leadership isn’t about power,” the librarian said. “It’s about serving others and helping your community.”
Sindara listened intently, inspired. “That’s what I want to do,” she thought. “Find ways to help people with my inventions.”
Reflecting on the Day

As the bus headed back to Lagos, Sindara looked out the window, her notebook filled with sketches and notes from the visit. “This was the best trip ever,” she said.
Ada nodded. “I learned so much. It makes me proud to be Nigerian.”
“And inspired to do great things,” Sindara added.
As the sun set over the horizon, Sindara smiled, already planning how to bring what she learned into her next big project.
