Smart Sindara is a Super Falcon for a Day and Meets Asisat Oshoala

A Big Surprise
Smart Sindara had always loved football. She played every afternoon with her twin brothers, Timi and Tami, in their backyard. They would pretend to be their favorite Super Falcons players, dribbling past invisible defenders and scoring imaginary goals.
But nothing could have prepared her for what happened one bright Saturday morning.
As she was tying her football boots, her mother walked into the room, holding a letter.
“Sindara, this just arrived for you.”
Sindara grabbed it, her heart racing. It had the Super Falcons logo on it!
She quickly tore it open and read aloud:
Congratulations, Smart Sindara!
You have been chosen to spend a day training with the Super Falcons at their national camp. Get ready to meet your football heroes!
Sindara screamed so loudly that Timi and Tami ran in, thinking something was wrong.

“I’M GOING TO TRAIN WITH THE SUPER FALCONS!” she shouted.
Timi’s jaw dropped. “No way!”
Tami gasped. “Are you serious?”
But before she could answer, their mother added, “Sindara, there’s one more thing…”
Sindara looked up.
“You’ll also be meeting Asisat Oshoala.”
Sindara nearly fainted.
The Training Session
The next morning, Sindara arrived at the Super Falcons training camp in Lagos. The stadium was massive, and the field looked like something from her dreams—perfect green grass, bright white goalposts, and the Nigerian flag waving in the wind.
She felt tiny compared to the professional players, but she reminded herself: I am Smart Sindara. I can do this!
Coach Randy Waldrum smiled as she walked in. “Welcome, Sindara. Are you ready?”
She gulped and nodded.
Her first challenge? Dribbling past a Super Falcons defender!
The ball rolled to her feet. She took a deep breath, then started dribbling. The defender, Onome Ebi, moved in to block her. Sindara quickly stepped to the right—then spun left, just like she had practiced with Timi and Tami.
Onome grinned. “Not bad, little one!”
Sindara beamed. I can actually do this!
Then came the shooting drill. Sindara lined up behind a few players, waiting for her turn.
“Don’t overthink it,” one of the Super Falcons said. “Just aim and shoot!”
The ball rolled to her. Sindara took a deep breath and kicked with all her might—the ball soared into the top corner of the net.
“GOAL!” someone shouted.
Sindara turned and froze.
It was Asisat Oshoala!
Meeting Asisat Oshoala
Sindara’s mouth went dry. She had admired Asisat for years—her speed, her power, her incredible goals! And now, she was standing right in front of her.
“That was a great shot!” Asisat said, grinning.
Sindara blinked. “T-thank you, ma’am.”
Asisat laughed. “Call me Aunty Asisat. And I hear you’re Smart Sindara?”
Sindara nodded quickly.
“Well, Smart Sindara,” Asisat continued, “do you want to play a one-on-one match with me?”
Sindara’s eyes nearly popped out of her head.
“Me? Against… you?”
“Why not?” Asisat winked. “Football is about courage. Let’s see what you’ve got!”
The Challenge of a Lifetime
They stepped onto the field. It was Sindara versus Asisat Oshoala.
Sindara’s heart pounded. How could she beat the best player in Africa?
The whistle blew, and Asisat started with the ball. Sindara ran forward to block her.
Asisat feinted left—Sindara didn’t fall for it.
She moved quickly, blocking Asisat’s run.
“Nice defending!” Asisat said. “But let’s see you attack!”
Now it was Sindara’s turn. She dribbled forward, tapping the ball carefully. Asisat was fast, but Sindara remembered her training.
She stepped right, then spun left—just like before.
The move worked! She had space!
With one last push, she shot the ball towards the goal…
And it zoomed past the goalkeeper!
Sindara scored against Asisat Oshoala!
The entire team cheered.

The Lesson of the Day
After the game, Asisat put her arm around Sindara’s shoulder.
“You have talent, Smart Sindara. But more importantly, you have courage. Never be afraid to take on challenges.”
Sindara nodded.
“Will I see you on the Super Falcons one day?” Asisat asked.
Sindara grinned. “Definitely!”
As she left the stadium, she felt stronger, braver, and more determined than ever.
Because today, she wasn’t just Smart Sindara—she was a Super Falcon in the making.
